Parker Artist Vernon Neilly
Vernon at 19 years old got a job working at the #1 radio station in South Florida WEDR (99Jamz) as an air personality, coupled with his music industry experience led him eventually to being the owner of his own internationally distributed record company, Boosweet Records, a well known award winning independent label based in Los Angeles, Ca. that has been releasing musical products successfully since 1999.
Vernon Neilly also currently is an international, award winning recording artist, who has recorded with, toured with, produced, worked with some of the most legendary names in the music business such as, the late blues legends "Johnny Guitar Watson", "Etta James", "Temptations" , "Steve Vai", "Greg Howe", Motown hit producer "Norman Whitfield", "Jennifer Batten", "Slash", Rap superstar "Warren G", "Howard Hewitt", "Teena Marie", funk pioneer George Clinton, Brasilian guitar hero's "Edu Ardanuy", Kiko Loureiro and many more.
He produced and mastered the 18 artist compilation disc "United By Tone" in conjunction with the worlds leading guitar pickup manufacturer, "Seymour Duncan". This highly acclaimed limited edition disc features some of the most notable names in the guitar world such as, Slash, Jerry Horton(Papa Roach), Jennifer Batten(Jeff Beck, Michael Jackson), Alien Ant Farm, Jimmy Bruno, 311, Seymour Duncan , and Vernon, who's track "Nassau Nights" is the first song on the disc.
Vernon's career rose to another level with the release of his CD "G-Fire", which garnered a prestigious contemporary jazz award. This award was given for having a top 20 most played contemporary jazz release at commercial radio 2003-2004. The success of "G-Fire" was so substantial that it allowed Vernon to sign a multi-year national retail distribution contract for his label Boosweet Records, with Synergy Distribution. Vernon followed up the success of "G-Fire," with "G-Fire II" which also played nationally/internationally on commercial, college, cable, satellite, and Internet radio stations. "G-Fire II" also won the distinguished jazz award making Vernon a 2 time consecutive winner. Vernon and the "G-Fire II" project also joined the top artist in the contemporary jazz genre such as Herbie Hancock, Gerald Albright, Mindi Abair, Everett Harp, George Benson, Lee Ritenour, and Larry Carlton by ranking in the Top 10 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums Retail Charts. In 2005 Vernon released his first live DVD entitled "Live in Brazil" which was shot at the famous EM&T in Sao Paulo, Brasil. Vernon released his 4th solo CD entitled, Vernon Neilly & Friends "A Tribute To Stevie Wonder", which was recorded on 3 continents, Europe, South America, and North America. This amazingly entertaining CD features along with Vernon some big international talent such as Greg Howe (Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake), Kiko Loureiro (Angra,Tarja) U-Nam, Michael Paulo (Al Jarreau, Earth Wind & Fire), Bill Hudson(Cellador, Power Quest, Circle II Circle), Grammy Award winning bassist Juan Nelson(Vesta Williams, Ben Harper), and others paying homage to the musical genius that is Stevie Wonder. This CD like the others continues to sell all over the world at both physical and digital stores. Vernon is due to release his 5th solo CD in the fall of 2015 entitled "Outta Time" to his international fan base and the world. Extending his career to acting, Vernon now can be seen on the big screen in theaters across the world, TV, and DVD in 3 major film company releases, Universals "Along Came Polly", Warner Bros. "Starsky and Hutch", and the most recent, Columbia Pictures "Walk Hard" . Vernon has also appeared in the UPN Network's hit television sitcom "One On One", and "Girlfriends". Vernon also can be seen in these movies and TV programs all over the world via cable and satellite broadcasts in many different languages. In addition he has his own channel on the very popular internationally visited website Truefire.com where people can see live performances videos, gear demonstrations of equipment he uses both in studio and live performances, feature interviews with major artist and icons in the music industry, and more. Vernon has also appeared on major television talk shows in the USA and other parts of the world including Brasil's most popular late night shows "Programma Do Jo" and "Ronnie Von".
Vernon recently moved on and is working with Parker Guitars part of the US Music Corp. conglomerate of instrument manufacturers. This entertainment industry veteran with his international following has helped the companies that he works with grow greater exposure, and sales for their products whether it be through his work in the studio, on stage, in films and TV, print magazine ads, or special marketing campaigns like the "Six String Extravaganza", that he partnered with guitar god Steve Vai. Adding on his tremendous lists of accomplishments Vernon Neilly with his record label Boosweet Records, Seymour Duncan, Morley, Xotic Effects, and other sponsors, recently made history in the country of Argentina by conceiving and putting on the first guitar competition in the history of that country which was a huge success and was supported by major media powerhouses such as video channels MTV, CME, and radio giant Rock & Pop 95.9.
