James Hogan is known by many as a "world class" guitarist. He is an artist who is regarded highly by his peers and is in constant demand as a touring sideman, studio musician and producer. Hogan is admired world wide for his musicality, his soulfulness and his rare ability to play authentically in virtually any style of music. This versatility is evident on Hogan’s top-selling instrumental album entitled TRUE DIVERSITY.
James’ superb musicianship and professionalism have landed him gigs with some of the top artists in the music business and he has recorded on 100’s on studio sessions and performed on thousands of club dates.
In addition to a successful music career, James Hogan is also a fine music teacher. James was a senior instructor at The National Guitar Workshop's Florida, Connecticut, Nashville, Washington D.C. and SUNY Purchase campuses. Additionally, Hogan teaches seminars across the U.S. and abroad each year. James Hogan is an Adjunct Professor of Guitar at The University Of North Florida and at Florida State College in Jacksonville, FL where he has been on staff since 2000. James Hogan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance (Summa Cum Laude) from the highly acclaimed University Of North Florida Jazz Performance program where he was a Collegiate Downbeat Award winner, full scholarship recipient and student of jazz guitar virtuoso Barry Greene. (2000)
